NOTES ON #87
This is the first poem I ever wrote. I suppose it's the centerfold of muppoems. I came out of the closet as a homosexual the same time I started writing poetry. In essence, I found my Self with this poem.
& Lynda Carter is a wonder. Never mind, she is Wonder Woman. WoW. Spin i can never spell Hallelujah! There goes Wonder Woman galloping on a horse...
& "Orange Colored Sky" was made famous by Nat King Cole, nicknamed after "Old King Cole," a nursery rhyme.
& How do you define truth? How do you define strength? &How are the two related? Wonder Woman's golden lasso could make any man tell the truth. HI-YA!
& Truth is my running gag on water. I am a liar. Often, I imagine, when people lie, they are trying to protect themselves. Others are trying to manipulate how someone else feels, while protecing their own selfish desires or precious image. For this poem, I wanted to address both lies, as well as truths about my self. Its strange to realize lies I told my self about my sexuality. It was difficult to come to terms with because organizations and such of the world instilled their ideas of truth in my mind, even though they were built out of lies themselves.
